Althea studies computer engineering at TP and she is a passionate member of the Writing department in the club

I haven’t been here long, but it has been a good few months. VAWC has helped me find time to engage in something I am passionate about—writing.

She used to continue writing, although not as much as she had intended. She could only compose little passages or dialogues before joining this club, but now she is able to produce entire works. Her writing style, her interpretation of the themes presented in each issue, and her ability to write on subject while maintaining her writing style have all been challenged by being here.

Justina studies communication design at TP and she is a devoted member of the Visual Arts department of the club.

I was inspired by the email sent by Ms Mary Thomas when she promoted the CCA and decided to give it a try. Besides that, I always wanted to try drawing comics but did not have the resources and motivation. VAWC’s Excos were supportive of my ideas and gave me feedback whenever I submitted the draft.

When the club would arrange brand-new activities for the members to indulge in throughout the holidays, Justina finds that those events are the most memorable. The "nine tales children's writing workshop," which trained her how to write for a fairly young population, was one of the events she took part in. She appreciated the fact that she didn't need to be an expert writer to convey the meaning of her narrative without using complex phrases. She also made new connections with other participants and learned about their varied perspectives on what it means to write as a result of this. She always gets the impression that members work hard to write on topics that are important to them when she reads the issues.

Yu Han studies Hospitality and Tourism Management at TP. She specialises in the writing department of the club.

I haven't really participated in the CCA events and I normally attend the online lessons since I'm not good at meeting and talking to new people but being in VAWC challenges me to step out of my comfort zone and see things from a new, fresh perspective

Writing for Yu Han typically begins with a focused subject. When a subject captivates her attention, she would spend a lot of time reading through various websites or books to conduct her research on it and develop an engaging storyline for it, such as the significance of flowers or the various types of owls.
